I am always impressed by the warm, full sound of the best acoustic guitar for a beginner i have played, and i am talking about Valencia acoustic guitars. They are cheap, reliable, well made, strong and tough, and last for years.
I have two Valencia guitars in voluteer service at some community groups currently. One guitar has been in use for the last 15 years, and the other for two years. They are simple, standard, full size nylon string guitars. Both are in great shape, and stand up well to the many folks who pick them up to play, or look at throughout the day.
Wear and tear is not a problem with these guitars which is one of the reasons i am always recommending them for a beginner. They can take the bumps and scratches that you can sometimes get in a room full of people making music. The sound is warm, and full, not brittle or harsh at all, and this now characteristic warmth of Valencia acoustic guitars, will only increase nicely as the guitar ages.
I am really starting to take a bigger interest in the future of these guitars, such is the high regard in which i hold them. Sure, they are not a top of the range guitar, and i have a few of those. My personal collection of guitars, acoustic and electric, include Maton, Fender, Gibson, an old acoustic Valencia nylon string of course, and a few others.
But the reason i love Valencia, is that they have never failed to deliver as a great, solid, no frills workhorse, in the classroom, on the street, or on the stage.
There are many brands of acoustic guitars for beginners out there on the market, but the best acoustic guitar buy in my opinion for a beginner, is a Valencia.
Until next time, keep playing, and...........Break a string.
Brian.
